Sights, sounds, and seasons greetings from CSGO!

That's a little confusing I know so let me explain

CSGO has been getting new updates that are good, bad, and downright festive.

SIGHTS:

THE SAS MODEL HAS BEEN REDESIGNED! what? The Counter terrorist known as the SAS, featured on Mirage and Inferno, has been updated! Supposed to update legibility of the character! So take a windy walk to check him out.

KNIFE GLOVES this is the majority of the bad. They look amazing but they are as rare as knives.
With 6 new styles of cosmetics that are always equipped, these could be great IF THEY WERE MORE COMMON.
The Styles are featured left to right: Moto, Driver, Hand Wraps, Bloodhound, Sport, and Specialist.
Most look very nice.

NUKE WAS UPDATED: i'll just give you the patch notes
Nuke
– Removed railing on crane in A site rafters
– Removed ability to climb up on/plant the bomb on top of silos in both bombsites
– Moved T entrance to squeaky to make movement smoother
– Removed window in Toxic, replaced with double doors
– Removed yellow bollards near Garage and Secret
– Removed cover on top of Mini
– Added some full cover in cubby next to ramp in bombsite B
– Replaced exposed bombsite silo with simple version in bombsite A
– Fixed small collision bump on ramp in ramproom where players could get stuck
– Added white, flat surface on fence at T side of yard
– Fixed various bugs listed on CSGOBugtracker.com (thanks to all contributors!)
– General optimizations

SOUNDS:
WE HAVE SURROUND SOUND FOR HEADPHONES!
– Added new audio option that enables Head-Related Transfer Function (HRTF) processing on in-game sounds. The goal is to vastly improve 360 degree vertical and horizontal sound positioning.
– By default, Speaker Configuration in Audio Settings has been set to “Headphones with HRTF.” Selecting an alternative speaker configuration will disable HRTF.
– NOTE: For an optimal experience with HRTF, we recommend turning off any external 5.1 or 7.1 surround audio driver options.

The bomb also has a new beep sound

SEASONS GREETINGS!:
IT'S FESTIVE
freezecams have a "Season's greetings!" border

You can buy and give gifts

Several maps have christmas lights.

AND CHICKENS HAVE SWEATERS!

Is Sombra balanced?

So the newest hero for Overwatch is here!

Even though I haven't played as Sombra; I've seen how she plays.

So brings the question, is she overpowered?
First we need a breakdown on her abilities.

200hp (no armor)

base weapon: 60 round gun that does more damage than it should

Abilities:

Thermoptic camo: makes her slippery

transgenderlocator:makes combos more annoying than others

hack: makes her more of a "support" than an offense

passive: just pushes her over to the OP side

So yea she is unbalanced.

But Why?

First off: So many abilities with () <--- that much room to counter.

second: counters almost everyone

third: hack health packs

Fourth: passive makes her able to pick of enemies that are almost dead, and she can hack the healthpacks. She basically becomes the OP spy

The update did seem a bit weird and it felt like it was killing Overwatch.

The things they decide to focus on...
Fixed a typo on the bakery blackboard in Eichenwalde (REALLY?!)
Fixed a bug that allowed certain heroes to stand on unintended pillars on Ilios (once again lowering the freedom of the players)
Fixed a bug on Lijiang Tower that allowed heroes to reach unintended locations
Fixed a bug allowing Reaper to Shadow Step to unintended locations on Nepal
Fixed a bug that allowed players to contest the payload from a protected area above the gas station on Route 66
Fixed a bug that allowed Pharah to reach unintended locations on Volskaya Industries
Fixed a bug on Watchpoint: Gibraltar that allowed players to reach an unintended location near the final objective (Tf2 at least allows some freedom to move around.)

(Are players even allowed to fix this or are these glitches so minor nobody notices them)

Fixed a bug that prevented Ana’s healing stats from showing up in the Career Profile page
Fixed a bug that prevented Ana’s custom crosshairs from displaying while zoomed
Fixed a bug causing irregular placement of the pumpkin on Genji’s “Pumpkin Carving” highlight intro with certain skins
Fixed a bug preventing Mercy’s staff from showing up in the “Guardian Angel” highlight intro with her Cobalt skin equipped
Fixed a bug preventing Reaper’s “R.I.P.” victory pose from animating correctly when the game client isn’t in focus
Fixed a bug that allowed Tracer to use Blink while rewinding with Recall (fixed a "bug" that made the Righteous bison to hit targets multiple times)
Fixed a bug preventing some of Tracer’s voice lines from activating with her Punk skin equipped (piece of kek)
Fixed a bug preventing Zarya from gripping her gun’s handle in the “Deadlift” highlight Intro (oh no, not a graphic error!)
Fixed a bug causing Zarya’s Graviton Surge to eject Reinhardt at high velocity (that must have been hilarious)
They added a one hero limit to normal quickplay. If this happened in Tf2 the Fans would REVOLT

Oh Yeah and they are making sure that Ultimates just fade into obscurity with nerf after nerf. IT'S LIKE WHAT GABEN DID to the CZ-75 AUTO and to TF2

Overwatch is killing itself!

Batman: Arkham City Review (story and mechanics)

So I just played Batman: Arkham City on the xbox 360 in less than twelve hours (on and off i had the whole night) so here is my thoughts.

Graphics for an xbox 360: Beautiful and the character model for Batman gets more worn out throughout the game.

Combat mechanics: Overall combo based, flying gadgets, and almost button-mashing (good but not perfect for what it should be)
Freedom to take them down in any way you wish but they get up very easily (take downs are somewhat long and most of the time someone else will interrupt)
Main problem with lack of easy take downs is that the smoke pellet is not bound to any combo so you can't do the awesome knockout punch without selecting it and I usually have the bat-claw equipped to disarm the gun-wielding enemies .

Enemies
Basic melee: balanced
Shields: balanced but there should be some sorta counter
Tasers: annoying, very annoying
knives: unnecessary
guns: fun to deal with but annoying when close together

Other Gameplay features: gadgets and glides!
Bosses are interesting and fun to take out and the outfits on them are just amazing
upgrades for survivability granted by exp for being fancy with the fights

Story:Perfect, a new twist on batman, a great idea, tutorials that aren't really tutorials as well.

do i reccomend it? YEAH

Sombra ARG: just like Five Nights at Freddys

So Blizzard has been teasing their new hero ever since the release of Overwatch, but this needs to STOP.

The title is a bold statement but it's true.
This no longer feels like a game or a set of teasers giving info. This "subtlety" is just like tuning Merasmus' magical television. "Stand on the dirt splotch as a certain class on a certain team." It also combines some Scott Cawthon-esque tactics. "Go to a certain screen and punch the concrete tiles in a certain order. Then listen for the Morse code. Then put that in a cipher. Then go to the website and input that code. Then go into the source code of the following page and divide by 9.362102482948298. And THEN input that into the site and get Rick Rolled. Wait till 2021 for more details."

Just had to get that out of my head, now where was I?
This game is great, but it's got a horrible hype train. While other games like Call of Duty have hype trains like Doc Brown's flying steam engine train time machine (literally it seems sometimes). Overwatch has that train from the Amazing Spider-Man 2 "The Roosevelt" or something like that (and we remember how horrible those movies were).

Technically it is still an Alternate Reality Game, but it's no longer fun and i'm sick of the videos.

Scream fortress VIII, not just to placate us.

Halloween is here!

Scream fortress 8, a repeat of last year, is not as bad as we think!
Why?

  1. All bugs are fixed (except queue times and the rematch/survey/re queue system) and to compensate, Valve extended it to November 16th so we can keep playing the randomness of Scream fortress for one more week!
  2. Scream fortress VIIs merasmissions and transmute gargoyles are back. And Valve is allowing us to play EVERY HALLOWEEN MAP IN EXISTENCE except Degroot Creep. Some people don't like those but they are a fantastic addition.
  3. This update was required, so Valve did not make it too fancy because they are working on the Pyro Pack. But the fact that this is a Halloween update will attract more players. And because valve is hyping the Pyro Pack we're bound to get more players!
  4. Non-Economy breaking unusuals and unusualifiers! this is Valve working to stimulate the economy and make unusuals less expensive AND GOOD JOB :)
  5. Valve is trying to incorporate more gamemodes into comp (thank Gaben they removed Turbine.) I hope to see more non-cp/koth maps in comp soon
  6. the Surgeons Sidearms were added (i voted for those,)
  7. BUMPER CARS
  8. Removed Herobrine
MVM also has a new, slightly better queue system!
Everyone will get up to 26 merasmission.
Added the Creepy Crawly Case

  • Contains 21 new community-created items that make-up the Creepy Crawly Collection
  • Has a chance to give one of 3 community-created Halloween-restricted items as a bonus item
  • Has a chance to give a taunt Unusualifier as a bonus item (ok)
  • Join Halloween matches by selecting the "Halloween" category in Casual (added new sfm art to that category, so they're trying)
  • Added "Load Saved Settings" and "Save Current Settings" buttons to the Casual mode Map Selection menu
    • Search criteria is now manually saved to give players more control over the default settings when the game is launched
  • XP earned in Casual matches has been adjusted to reward players more for their personal contribution to the match
    • XP per point has returned to 6.5 XP per point
    • XP earned for match completion and objective completion now scales based on your score relative to total amount of points scored by everyone in the match (BALANCING CASUAL TO MAKE IT MORE LIKE THE GOOD OL QUICKPLAY. they're compensating for the fact that you have to queue up)
  • BUT REMEMBER, Valve is trying

Did csgo just get an overwatch update?

(not to the community VAC system)
Did Valve just use an idea that is most prominent in Blizzard's Overwatch
YES! (not sure how to feel about this)
The Make Your Mark update, MYM..... MYM was also Meet Your Match.....
But it now comes with SPRAYS in their own little lootboxes (it's called graffiti)
Yes now there are new graffiti to use and boxes to buy.

  • The graffiti is not like any other source game where you could put any pic into a spray mechanic and just spam away on say, an nsfw pic.
  • Now Graffiti uses preset patterns that you can get (like in overwatch)
  • Graffiti is in ranked tiers. You can get free ones which have "ok" patterns and are only one color. Free graffiti can come in rank-up drops for free weekly.
  • Higher ranked ones are good works of art which can only be unboxed in 99 cent crates which are selling for $2 on the market
  • The graffiti is limited, which we feel is a feature that would show up in a F2P game. 50 uses is all you get before you have to buy more of the higher tier ones.
In my experience I don't mind it, BUT does it have to be limited use? cant it be like Overwatch?

DID VALVE FIX MEET YOUR MATCH?!

Valve just recently released a new update for TF2 which has a good amount of goodies for us to be glad about. So.....

HAS VALVE FIXED IT FINALLY?!

I hope so, now my biggest problems are lag and that glitch in comp that causes me to not connect, which then doesn't allow me to "rejoin" which forces an abandon.

Valve definitely needs to add more gamemodes (payload race?) to comp but now i'm pretty happy with competetive!

NEW STUFFS in the recent update:

it's summarized like this (with my notes)

  • Players can now form rematches at the end of a Casual match
    • At the end of a Casual match, players will have 30 seconds to opt-in to a rematch
    • If at least 6 players from BLU and 6 players from RED have chosen to rematch, then a rematch will begin

A rematch will use the same teams, map and server (dangit)

  • Players can now re-queue into Casual Matchmaking during the end of a match
    • Players who decline a rematch or simply don't vote in the rematch voting period will automatically be re-queued (blah blah blah, kinda helps those who don't want an extra click)
  • Updated the way XP is earned in Casual matches
    • Players will now be awarded more XP based on their team's performance at the end of a match (GREAT!)
    • XP is no longer lost for leaving a Casual match early(:D)
    • A breakdown of XP sources is now shown when your XP bar fills up (YAY)
  • Casual matches now more strongly prefer to distribute players to teams based on experience, in order to better avoid creating one-sided matches (MATCHMAKING)
  • Casual matches are now more likely to start with fewer than 24 players in lower population game-modes or regions, wherein the wait time for a full match would become excessive
    • The current minimum allowable match size in such situations is twelve players
    • The matchmaker will still attempt to place late-joiners into these matches as they become available (yeah, yeah we know, decreasing queue times)
  • Competitive matches no longer terminate when any player abandons the match
    • Bots will now fill in for players who have abandoned, or temporarily disconnected from, Competitive matches( then that team is screwed)
    • Matches that finish at an advantage or disadvantage (e.g. 6v5 or 5v6, not counting any bots) will now result in larger or smaller skill rating adjustments for disadvantaged wins or disadvantaged losses, respectively (good)
    • Competitive matches that lose more than one player per team will keep the current behavior of ending the match
    • Players who abandon Competitive matches still receive a large skill rating penalty and Competitive matchmaking cooldown, regardless of whether a bot was allowed to take their place (balanced)
  • Greatly improved the reliability of client ping estimates when placing users into matchmaking servers
    • The game client now periodically checks in with the matchmaking server network to estimate ping to each region, and feeds the information back to the matchmaking system
    • This should greatly reduce cases of players being placed in regions to which they have poor ping, even when said regions are geographically nearby
    • (YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH)
  • The scoreboard now shows the connection status for missing and connecting players
  • General
    • Added tournament medals for ozfortress Season 16 and Season 17
    • Fixed an exploit related to the Eureka Effect and carrying buildings (YES)
    • Fixed Live Streams menu not displaying the list of streams
    • Fixed the flamethrower not drawing the Halloween Spell: Spectral Flame effect during Halloween and Full Moon events (Getting ready for scream fortress!)
    • Updated the localization files
    WHAT DO YOU THINK?

The steam community market: is it broken, is this economy screwed?

The steam community market has a problem: worth is measured in supply and demand. and rices skyrocket or plummet because of competition.
Nobody actually gets what the item is worth unless they go to a trading site where nobody will buy it anyways (spoken from experiences). And i'm not even referring just to knives and unusuals. In trade servers, barely anyone trades anymore on TRADE servers due to the steam guard authenticator rise. and it's becoming harder and harder to get what an item is worth outside of the economy.

So, is the steam community TF and Csgo market and economy Screwed?
In my opinion (what you spent your time to look at) YES.

    Why?
My first point: Mann Versus Machine is not in any way worth the money plus time you spend unless you get a good Aussie. Botkillers take time to get, more than a set of "Two Cities" loot. Operation Gear Grinder is expert difficulty, which means it takes LOTS of skill to finish. Yet, a Carbonado Botkiller weapon can go for as little as 30 cents. Ten percent of what it cost to get (3 tour of duty tickets).  Austrailiums require less skill, but more percerverence, about as much as it takes to unbox 300 crates hoping for an unusual/knife. Yet they are worth a lot more (except for the Smg and the Axestinguisher).

Second point: Skins, ranked cosmetics, and craft hats low pricing.
Skins are worth very little based on quality, wear, special terms (festivised, statclocks, killstreaks.) The Higher ranked skins look better, so to make them hard to get they are even rarer. Then they make unusual effects even rarer.  Craft hats, no matter how good looking, aren't worth much in trading and can't be sold on the market.

Skins worth is much similar in Csgo, except instead of unusual effects, there's knives.
Knives are really rare, but much like Aussies, it has to do with what knife, what wear and what skin. These factors can severely bring down the value of a knife.
Purple skins are barely worth more than blue skins outside of knives. On the market, stickers aren't worth anything on a weapon, same with $2 name tags. Which means your skin could be really unique with it's stickers, but only worth $0.22.

Why do I dislike Flair, Nislt, and Delfy?
Yes, now comes my whole confession.

These youtubers are rather annoying in my opinion.
Delfy and flair are exploit uploaders who (at least with flair) rely on voice synthesizers instead of editing over it with a microphone because they barely speak English. They show you how to ruin the gameplay experience of other players.

Nislt also will not show his voice.
Nislt Takes other people's files because they're too lazy to try to post those themselves, adds voicelines, a cramped/clickbait title (I.E. "how to travelthroughtimeusingtheshortcircuit#95{EPICFAILINGWIN/GIBUS}FUN)
And slaps an even more cramped thumbnail on it.
Nislt's thought process for the thumbnail
"Let's put a cringy sfm face in front of a bunch of colored boxes. Then, let's add the title in a big font. Afterwards, put something random like an explosion with lightning and a stop sign"
I really like more simple thumbnails, Take Vanossgaming's or Muselk's. A simple sfm will get my attention.
Although i like M3rkmus1k, I don't like his thumbnails. His thumbnails usually consist of his face, a word like WHY?!, and an action scene. That is still in my opinion (what you know you're reading) clickbait-y.

And the expoits, OH THE EXPLOITS!
Unless the exploit HELPS in Mann Vs Machine, I just avoid the exploits in general. These people are like
"This is fun! make everyone else have a horrible time!" The exploits, which mostly have been fixed NOT THANKS TO DELFY, should only be used on friendly servers or private servers NOT PUBS.

The exloits are supposedly "fixed" after delfy uploads a video which promotes every 8 yr old to use the glitch (and they do). When in reality that's just not the case. Valve's TF team is so out of touch with the community that they're not competent to notice the bug because of delfy. What delfy does is make everyone hate the game until an accomplished bug finder with the Finder's Fee or someone who notices the bug and fixes it because delfy's video made it worse reports to Valve.

That's all i can think of right now.

SIGSEGV AND VALVE HAVE DONE IT AGAIN! :D

So recently Valve became VERY active and updated their major games
CSGO finally got a new Beta section so that valve doesn't break the game without anyone knowing prior (like the wild west R8)

And TF2 got a much needed breath of air.
Valve fixed a basic exploit about MvM which we wish was the start of something great.
But this next bit is where Sigsegv comes in. First off he fixed a glitch which Valve predicted that, unless they had a full source engine overhaul they would not be able to fix it. BUT THE QUANTUM CROUCH EXPLOIT IS FIXED! THANKS TO SIGSEGV! This of course will deal damage to the exploit video uploaders (Nislt, Delfy, Flair, etc.) and fix up this game.

One more thing that will help to make an exploit-free game is the fact that Valve also fixed the "building out of bounds" exploit. However this has made some trouble (as Uncle Dane has shown on his 2nd channel). Players now cannot build in some favored LEGAL spots like the outside of RED spawn platform on PL_Upward. This hopefully will get fixed and we will be closer to a near-perfect TF2

Before you go however i need to address something. I've seen my writings and it kinda looks like i'm hating on Delfy, Nislt, and now Flair. I don't plan to bash these guys in MOST of my posts but I do not like these Youtubers. I will explain my lack of respect for them soon enough but remember.
This is America, where people can speak freely, the internet even more so. You can hate on me (and be a fanboy like with matpat's fanboys roasting raja) and right now i don't care if you do so but you do not need to defend someone you don't know at all aside from his voice and maybe his face.

    Thursday, September 15, 2016

Something needs to be brought to the TF2 community's attention.
A user by the name of SigSegv brought to VALVe's attention a possibly GAME-BREAKING glitch/exploit utilizing the Short Circuit a couple weeks ago. This exploit caused the players and server to lag for a millisecond. However, this would cause players to rubber band horribly allowing players to, what's the word, clip inside enemy players. This would actually allow the player who lagged into the enemy to bypass the enemy spawn protection, and get inside the spawn. Sigsegv provided all the information worthy of a Finders Fee and gave it to VALVe. But VALVe, being incompetent let two updates go by w/o fixing it.

Then the Bad stuff happened. Famous Youtuber Delfy uploaded a video openly promoting this exploit. Which in turn caused the community of Gibus-wearing fanboys to exploit this over and over in Casual mode which was making the game NOT FUN TO PLAY. Sigsegv wrote to VALVe again saying "Hey, you need to fix this!" VALVe finally fixed it after Insomnia 58 or I58, the previous community competetive streamed event. Once this was fixed, Delfy took all the credit, having done nothing to let VALVe know or trying to fix it (much like how he never contacted mapmaker UEAKCrash about the exploits in his maps like PL_Borneo). And Delfy's fanboys defended him even when several people spoke the truth.

My favorite comment on someone who Spoke the truth about Sigsgev
Was by a user with a "Meet the amazing sniper" profile pic (i will leave the name anonymous)
Who said "You should really kill yourself cause your lying" (yes he spelled you're wrong)

Please give Sigsegv and the other bug fixers some respect and don't believe every FAMOUS youtuber.
